Freshfiber is a European design label focusing on bringing art and fashion to electronics devices like smartphones, tablets, and other gadgets we use on a daily basis.
Our production method is totally new to the accessories industry: designs are carefully fused into a shape by a laser, one layer at a time. This “3D Printing” allows for more freedom of form, and is also affordable without having to make thousands of pieces. It enables artists to fully express their ideas and show them to customers faster.
Instead of meaningless mass production we believe in dazzling unique designs, more variety, and using factories only for those products we really want.
Manufacturing more elegantly
3D printing eliminates the need for us to create a new plastic injection mould each time we come up with a new design idea. We can just make a digital 3D file and send it to the 3D printer.
This means we can produce smaller quantities of personalized and special designs, without manufacturing more than is required. In this way, we avoid spending production and transport energy of products that would end up as stock in a warehouse.
Lowering transport energy cost
The growing amount of 3D printing machines globally will make it possible to produce locally in each continent, eliminating the transport energy and cost that currrently make up a substantial amount of the eco-footprint of a product.
Advances in recyclability
During the 3D printing process, much of the raw material which is not lasered into our products, will be recycled and put into the 3D printer again for the upcoming production round. Advances in 3D printing technology will make it possible to print products using recyclable materials itself.
Who we are
Freshfiber was founded in 2009 by two Dutch entrepreneurs coming from the consumer electronics industry, with a passion for design, innovation and… being avid iPhone users.
They have teamed up with creative talents around the world to utilize the freedom of 3-D design and apply it to the devices we use in our daily lives.
We are continuously looking for artists with a vision that needs to be communicated through product design.
